About

My name is Michael Woo Yew Seng (b. 1997), a 3D Artist and Video Editor.

My work mainly reflects on introversion and introspection of humanity in the form of skeletons, reflecting ambition, pain, loneliness, and other emotions, surrounded by objects that contain hidden meaning, subject to the viewer’s interpretation. Taking aesthetic inspiration from Caravaggio’s masterpieces, my artwork showcases high contrast images with often limited lighting, as well as the feel of the studio with most of the artwork’s dark background and partially illuminated subjects. The intention of these artworks is to make you feel, a visual message from me to you, from artist to a viewer.

However, since I am still at the commencement of this beautiful art journey, some of my other works do not necessarily have any form of deeper symbolic meaning, an example being the artwork on the right. Being inspired by modern internet themes such as "This pic goes hard, feel free to screenshot,” I also intend to make artworks that look "hard” in this case a skeleton having some nice jewellery around it. Although these may be seen as unserious artwork, I do hope that you have some sort of satisfaction viewing them!

At the end of the day, all I hope for you is to be able to feel some sort of emotion when you view my artwork. If there is some level of emotional response from seeing them, I’ve done my damn job!
